It is shit mind.
You will basically be getting about £1 an hour more than a van driver for a lot more responsibility
Not many Class1 drivers are getting more that £30k a year flat.
My advice would be, get your Class2 and see if you can get something on tippers, or skips or multi drop locals. Then see how you feel about going for Class 1.
Be very aware that VOSA are absolute c unts of the highest level and treat HGV drivers as a cash cow.
Get pulled over and they will find something to fine you for.
For me, its just not worth the bother anymore
