I'm a Shields lass so I'm used to being friends with both sets and I enjoy a bit of banter. The ones I can't stand though are the ones who hate us more than they love their own club (although that works both ways like). :evil:

On the contrary Newcastle and it's fans have given me cause for delight on many occasions.

:-)I am used to disliking those that give proper sunderland fans stick when they don't go their 'own' games
 
I wonder how this thread would have gone if tlr had posted it and it read muslims instead of mags?
 
I find that generally most mags can't differentiate between sunderland as a football club and sunderland as a city. so they just end up hating everything to do with sunderland

Well done DCM. This RFE chap is always so calm, jovial and condescending but you have managed to get him to bite. So much so that he resorted to insulting your spelling ability before disappearing from the thread.

Wait, i'd better run a sple chk before i finish posting or he'll have me guts for garters.

PS I have no time for the plastic Mags in Wear Valley but have some good banter with Mags who i have played football with/against and worked with.

I would put an extraordinary amount of money on my intelligence being comfortably higher than yours.

Was a valid point, what I was saying if that if you follow the 'stereotype' of a mag, then you have the 'our rivals are man united', geordie nation etc. and that 'idea' I hate, but that I have a load of mag mates who are top notch. If you follow the 'stereotype' of a Muslim you have a homophobic, no craic, racist which again, isn't an 'idea' I'm very keen on, but once again as individuals I have no problem with them.

The point I was making (you f***ing dildo) is that you can easily hate a group on the basis of the stereotype but not the actual individuals.
