Has - beens, Ben Stokes


Apparently he was 'coaching the academy' and got hit by a ball from the nets.

Does he have any coaching qualifications? Or does being England skipper give you a bye on all that?

My son was at an under18 training camp with Durham and Graham Onionscwas taking the session and in one fielding routine he told the lads to throw the ball in as hard as they could, so he did and broken Onions finger. He was not happy but he did say to throw it as hard as you can, “show me what you’ve got!”

He misses out on the England tour that winter. So it is not unheard of to get injured coaching juniors.

To be fair Onions probably mistimed his catch resulting in the injury. It sounds like Stokes wasn’t standing in a safe spot when he was hit as well.
 
Stokes seems a lot slimmer this season. I don't think he was fat in any way, but he carried a lot of muscle. I wonder if he's been told to cut down on the gym as part of a new fitness regime.

Marty pointed that out in the first session that he looks slimmer and fitter especially in the face
