Honestly, the league cup is the least consequential? Winning the second division vs winning the league cup? The second division is just a means to an end.
Any fan of any club in the country and any player would choose winning the league cup over winning promotion as champions from the second division.

I also used the word "cosnequential" deliberately....fir a club...being promoted to the top flight has a far graeter impact on the cliub, financially and in terms of profile, than a league cup win,

League Cup all day long.
I’d even take relegation back to L1 to see us win a major domestic trophy at Wembley.
It’s all about the days out/memories being a proper Sunderland supporter.
Hence why you don’t get it, because you’re a fraud.

i dont think the FANS would crave a stewrat golden boot over a league cup win..I think STEWART would crave a golden boot win over a league cup win..

and I think the FANS would prefer promotion from the championship to a league cup win..

Daft question. In my lifetime I’ve been at 7 games celebrating promotion to the top league of English football. I’ve never seen us win a major trophy or play in Europe. I’d donate a testicle for medical science if it meant we won the league cup and played a few games in Europe, never mind give up on a promotion for a few seasons.

Considering you claim to have never been to Sunderland, thus, won’t have talked to many of OUR FANS, what are you gaging this on?
