Harry Kane

Typical overated English player, hes bang average

There's been many posts in this thread I could have responded to but I'll just choose this one. Just as with the thread a few weeks ago, it's just pathetic.

Kane is a very good young footballer, he was a stand out throughout the youth set up, did well on loan in the Championship and has worked extremely hard to get to where he is right now. He broke into the first team at a young age and looked out of place but this didn't deter him and he has gone from a bit of a joke figure at 17 to one of our most important players at 21. His work rate is exceptional, ran over 13k yesterday for the second time this season, only George Boyd has run further in a game. It's been mentioned that Wickham plays out wide and Kane up front, but this isn't really the case. Soldado plays up front and Kane plays behind him at the top of the midfield. He is everywhere on the pitch. He's been a breath of fresh air for us amongst these overpaid, shite foreigners we've brought in. Him, Mason and Bentaleb have just epitomised everything you want from players that wear your shirt. They are clearly proud to be doing so and their will to win has driven us to wins this season we probably wouldn't have got otherwise.

You can criticise Kane all you want, but it just strikes of jealously. He may never be a world beater, in fact i'm pretty sure he won't be, but he is a very talented, very hard-working young footballer and he has every chance to go on and make it at the top level. He has a knack for scoring goals that just can't be taught. He regularly gets into the right positions and finishes. He is very good in the air and his movement is clever. He's had to work on that due to his lack of blistering pace and it's been successful. He finds half a yard in and around the box and he also brings others into play. He's not really a number 9 but a number 10, he's just as good bringing others into play as he is scoring himself. His development has been exciting to watch and I of course hope it continues.

Scored largely against Bulgaria farmers. 3 in the league isn't much to shout about considering he has played in most of the games 16 in but I like his work rate!

aye, Whickham has 2 league goals from the wing anarl

He puts himself about a damn sight more than Wickham.

Seems to really want to win

Absolute rubbish, one thing you can't label on wickham is not working hard this season, he has worked his absolute f***ing nuts off. I actually think he is working too hard, by the time he gets in decent positions he has lost his composure.

Really unfair that, the lad has done well in a difficult role, at least he helps us get up the pitch.

he has improved as games go by too imo, carries it well now and holds people off better (see Ivanovic)

I agree, he has fought really well, I would like to see him upfront, where he doesn't have to waste energy tracking back or ploughing down the wing, he has the strength and pace, and if he could be selective with his runs it would really help

The thing he does not have at all is a first touch, he needs to work on that, as it is always bouncing off him, I don't know enough about football to know if that can be taught, but it ain't good.

I agree about his first touch, its pretty simple, relax your foot to cushion it ;-)

People would be devastated if Kane signed for us? Aye, really devastating, A young English forward who is scoring goals and looking better by the week.

same age as Whickham but I bet he cant play on the wing ;-)

This guy seems to have come from nowhere but knows where the net is. Good (for English football) to see him getting time on the pitch, i hope that someone like Man City doesn't take him and leave him to rot in the reserves.

im watching the spurs game. kane has done alright. scored one and somehow missed a sitter from 2 yards. on todays showing he looks pretty decent. does nothing fancy and makes the correct decisions. hope he gets more chances as he's in my fpl team this week.

Thought he was absolutely shite when he first started getting games but it shows what a run in the team and a bit of confidence can do for a player.

Definately think he has potential. Him and Charlie Austin banging them in. Would have one of these 2 in the next England squad any day over Lambert.

You are clueless mate

12 goals in 20 games in all competitions this season. Think he has a good future.

Same age as Wickham aswell and is showing more promise. Both could be future England strikers with the right guidance but think Spurs will develop Kane quicker then we will with Wickham unfortunately.

If Wickham shows more promise out left, maybe Gus will move him in goal. He'll get even more stick for not scoring then!

Agree to an extent. He seems to work hard when he has the ball. But absolute rubbish without the ball. He gets crticism if you notice because he seems to stand still waiting for the ball rather than move around like most players will do. His movement without the ball is the worst in the team thus some will categorize him as being lazy. Two things he needs to work on and may still be a player in him. Movement without the ball and looking up to pass or shoot as he keeps his head down...way too long.
