Speaking of Harker, has anyone been able to explain yet why he resigned as Chief Exec. then suddenly comes back in a minor role?
No.

I'd like Cook to retire-he's been around too long and familalarity breeds contempt-likewise Harker. WE need both batting, bowling and fielding expertise. Benks,Colly and Killa give you that and they're 100% Durham through and through. Harmi keeps hinting he'd like a coaching position-How conceited can you get?
I feel quite sorry for Geoff when people say this. I know its not meant out of malice but the bloke has been a great servant to Durham and I think he should be allowed to go when he wants to and with good grace.

I'd also like to think that when he does decide to retire as first team coach he will not be discarded by the club but moved into a role with the junior teams. I've seen him with the younguns and he is absolutely superb. Seen lads and lasses look like a million dollars after he has encouraged them. He has a great way with them.

Cant see him doing anything until Benks is good and ready - Dale is surely a shoe in for the position although talking with him last year he put forward Colly (out of modesty IMHO).

I think upto the the middle of last season Benks was a cert to take over from Geoff Cook when he goes, but not now. The way Colly transformed the fortunes of the team (and Cooks prospects of staying in the job a bit longer) surprised everyone, especially the hierarchy at Durham. If Colly goes on to lead the team to a trophy or even to a couple of respectable finishes in the CC, it will enhance his prospects of landing the top job even more .

I think Colly's future lies in TV commentary. Probably more money in that than coaching.

No reason why he can't do both. Summer cricket coverage is mainly England and that team is pretty settled. Colly,as an exT20 captain, will be in demand for that form of commentary and those tournaments are springing up all over the world.

So how is Harmi sitting in a Sky studio commenting on a Test Match when he's supposed to be in pre-season training for the club who's paying him a fortune. This gives those who are objecting to a council loan justifiable ammunition.

He's a disgrace.

He's not interested in Durham. I cringe when I hear him say he believes he still has a lot to offer etc and wants to play cricket

He's even got a benefit night in london the night before Durham play at home.

I wonder what would happen if 'The Durham Sir Alex' was to be in the squad for that game.

I note that Yvette who used to be the media manager at DCCC is helping out on the Harmison Benefit arrangements.
