and yes spot on, we're in the middle of an odi series and he's out till 3am on the piss. I'd say from the clip of his punches he's fairly leathered.

not saying I wouldn't be, or that it never used to happen but in this day and age and earning the money they are you have to realise there is a price that comes with that. you can't earn more for a few weeks work than most do in a decade and expect to still be able to live like jack normal
 

Self defence does not require you to wait for the other person to attack you first.

If you perceive a threat to your safety you can hit first and still be acting in self defence.

It has to be a justified perception though, and that's where individual cases have to be argued.
 
If that is Hales sticking the boot in on the lads head he should be sent down. In fact, whoever it is should be sent down, cowardly act booting someone in the head when they're on the deck that could cause serious, serious injury.

Fights happen up and down the country every single night of the week. Sticking the boot in on someone's head when they're on the floor is a twats trick.

Add in the fact Hales is a cheating bastard they should throw away the key IMO

Well one my my mates got send down for something very similar. 12 months. Wasnt his fault but KO the lad. Lad fractures his eye socket

Most fights on nights out don't end up in prison time

And you know that

I do know that. It is because the majority of cases there is simply no evidence to showcase the crime. Half the camaras in the town have been took down now. The fact he has been caught int he act makes it very very different.

Every fight I've seen has been on CCTV I bet

Fair enough. I just know as I was jumped a while ago in the town and the coppers told me that over half of CCTV has been took down in the town due to funding cuts and building works. Thats why no prosecutions are made. If caught on CCTV, it is completely different though

Shocking that mind. At least stokes goes at it man to man. Hales should be embarrassed looking at that.
None of us want Stokes to get in bother here and we need him for Ashes but regardless of what his fanboys on here are saying he's in bother. If the lads jaw is broken and stokes is seen to be doing it on camera then that's GBH and he could easily end up doing a bit of bird.

Yeah I accept to a point not doubting you there

I live in central London so obviously they waste lot of cash on stuff like this

I honestly don't believe that's a jailable offense, even if it was Steven Taylor doing it

I don't accept your point about him getting better treatment

In my opinion it will be the complete opposite. Who he is could end up with him getting done

First part is fine, other bloke has a glass bottle and looks threatening. Part at the end when he lays the bloke out is completely unnecessary though. Don't think he will go to jail for it, just depends on the ECB's stance on whether they want him as part of their squad.

Mind he needs his head checking. Seems as though they were in the club earlier, then came back but couldn't get back in as it was after 2am. Fair enough get a few beers and enjoy yourself but come on, you are one of the best cricketers in the world, with the Ashes and a huge IPL contract coming up this winter!!
