2. Seriously - wtf is the point of having a paid artist at crown court trials. What value do they add to anything? Do we really need a f***ing pastel drawing of the inside of the court? I've never understood this bizarre tradition - and I bet the taxpayer pays for it anarl.

In fairness Chopper, it’s not a case of Stokes doing wrong - it’s about getting the known facts correct and making sure the alleged details stay allegations. That’s what the legal process is about and that’s another reason why I think this thread should’ve been locked.

The hysteria is embarassing, so too is the constant believing of every single thing said by people.

People lie under oath, it’s worth remembering that.

The reference to the money is pretty irrelevant. He was asking why he was outside, and it was because he wasn’t allowed back in

Indeed, but someone coming towards you brandishing a metal pole would give a right minded individual reason to believe their safety is in danger - therefore, it is fair to assume that self-defence is a reasonable tactic to employ.

Someone must do marra, I mean I’m with you, I think they’re shite - but there must be some demand.

Personally I think we should go down the same route as the yanks and have court cases televised.

I'm a bit confused over the timeline. He was amongst things when he got knocked out (saying he was trying to defend Ali) Did he come around after getting sparked and then get the metal pole or did he have it during the fighting or was he not knocked out at all?

Having a bottle in itself isn't a crime. People can have a bottle in their possession for numerous reasons not least to drink from it. If Hale didn't use or threaten to use the bottle for anything I assume it would be discounted as having no relevance. It was Ali (according to Stokes) who threatened to use /used the bottle.

This. As far as I can see it goes like this:

Ali - comes at Stokes, Hale and maybe the gay guys with the bottle.
Stokes - absolutely sparks Ali clean out, breaks his eye socket. He's completely fucked.
Stokes - goes after Hale, Hale is the one backing away.
Stokes knocks Hale down but doesn't knock him out.
Hale runs away, gets the pole.
But by time he gets back everything seems dispersed.

This would sort of figure why Hale has been let off - doesn't actually seem to have thrown a punch in anger. His near namesake and Stokes' marra however, does seem a bit of a lucky boy.
