We're in a right mess at the minute, we are this seasons QPR, and Rednapp couldn't do anything for them, so I'll be amazed if Poyet keeps us up. But I think he is the best we can do at this moment in time, even Pulis ruled himself out of the job FFS !

Anyway, as with all new managers, I'll get behind him, and like all Sunderland fans I'm hoping he can work a minor miracle. If he doesn't, please Ellis Short, don't sack him if we go down :(

I'll tell you better in a month or 2 lol. He has done well at Brighton despite all the rumors but he hasn't got the prem experience and managing big egos in this league. Give him the chance although I do feel more positive about Poyet than I did about Di Canio, I knew from the off that Di Canio was the wrong man.

Unsure. A decent record in the lower leagues, but no Premier experience as a manager.

Likes to play good football. I like to watch it.

Believes in ball retention, Out lot drove me mad against man u with their playing attitude of "Oops, sorry you didn't score in your last attack, here's the ball again". That basically how we lost the game. Unnecessary thumping the ball anywhere. Almost anything that will stop that is good news. Gus will stop it.

So for me, I will support him because he will be our manager and he likes good football.

Interesting post and I hope you're right. Do you think Poyet can get our players to retain the ball more and player better football with us staying in the league or do you think there's a chance that we will go down before he puts his stamp on the team?

Not arsed.

At least it's not making our club a laughing stock like the last time.

Hard to get too excited by an out-of-work Championship manager though. Hopefully the latest cut-price gamble will pay off, and we can scrape survival before having another soul-sapping summer of bewildering transfer bullshit.

So pleased

No top flight experience

Latin fire

Falls out with players

Cracking

Stuck between not arsed and no.
Voted No simply because im fed up with us allways accepting second best.
I have nothing against Poyet , and really hope he does well.
Its just that after all these years of false dawns I still hold a glimmer of hope that we would pull a rabbit
out of the hat.
But as allways we go for another unemployed manager, who has no previous track record.
Maybe in my lifetime SAFC will surprise me.

If he can somehow keep us up this season I think he could have us playing some good stuff in the future

Only slight reservation is I am not a 100% sure he is a team player, quite happy to shift the blame if things are not going well rather than try to baton down the hatches and create a bit of a siege mentality[DOUBLEPOST=1381174891][/DOUBLEPOST]

Its not exactly a attractive proposition for them proven ones who are already in a post

I'm not overly pleased - think he's a bit of a cock tbh. However, right now we're heading down and anything to kickstart the season is a good thing.

Very true.
But i think it only highlights how lost of direction we are.
God , I do miss Quinny and his magic carpet ride.

No-one gives a fuck what a mag thinks.
