That's the point of the piece though. The point of an advert is to sell clothes, so they find someone who they think makes their clothes look good to wear them.
Men can do this too.

How does someone wearing skin tight latex have the slightest thing to do with which car is the fastest? Its a bogus job.

Imagine a young girl watching F1. They might be interested in it - but then they see womens' place in F1 - decoration around the important men.

You're being paid to stand around and be looked at by men. I've got no issue with this in general - if its the purpose of the event. But the purpose of sports is being the best at the sport, not having a dolly-bird on your arm.

You're being paid to stand around and be looked at by men. I've got no issue with this in general - if its the purpose of the event. But the purpose of sports is being the best at the sport, not having a dolly-bird on your arm.

I totally do. But I know the difference between a lass who enters the correct social contract that her job is basically sex, vs someone who pretends it isn't, when it totally is.

Plenty of places to look at lasses on the telly and online without them doing this. Its a classic case of how men see the world differently to women - they are 2nd class humans in these cases. It has to change.

The elephant in the room of course. If I want to see good looking lasses in hardly any clothes, I'm not short on options!
I don't watch sports so see some random lasses milling around doing fuck all to do with the sport.

I mean, even if their job was to pull the darts out of the board, then they'd have a tenuous reason to exist. But they dont - they're there to walk the players on? What? The dart players can't walk 20 yards on their own? :lol:

When a 14 year old lass is thinking about getting into engineering, or heaven forbid, being a racing driver, and she watches the pinnacle of the sport - what does she see?

9 out of 10 team managers - Men
99.99% of drivers - Men
99% of mechanics, pit crews, stewards - Men

The only women she'll see are nothing other than decoration. Stand still and look pretty.

Think about it man.

I went to uni (and bucked) a very pretty girl who played hockey and was race engineer at Renault.
 
It's a shame, it all added to the spectacle. The best drivers behind the wheels, gorgeous looking cars and a beautiful woman draped across the bonnet. We lost the first two a long time ago!
The World is becoming too sterile. The girls weren't forced to do it and probably got a decent pay packet too. Nothing illegal or immoral was going on, if you don't like it then don't watch it.

Is a good point, even if the initial idea was a bit of a piss take, whats good enough for the goose etc

Still, it all started years ago when ITV canned the Benny Hill show due to the hills angels & a few saucey gags
