I'd be surprised if anyone above mid level ops staff would be on 80k. Especially now you can outsource to India. My first trading job with a salary was 35k although that was just over 10 year agoWhat’s crazy money to you though? How about we set the bar at £80k?
Yes it is called socialism for the rich. It’s good enough for them but evil for the rest of us.So I’m paying people to work at Greggs?

Sorry I meant if any mid level ops staff were on 80k.id say closer to 50k. Still good of course but if you're on 50 grand you get absolutely nothing from the state. Full burden. All income taxed on income rates. Likely so stocks or shares. No income from isas.I'd be surprised if anyone above mid level ops staff would be on 80k. Especially now you can outsource to India. Let's say you know very little about the city other than press cuttings. Your car lease. Where do you think that comes from? Your interest (not much of that anywhere) where does that come from? Your online banking. Where does that come from. Just admit it you know nothing about the workings of fincnace. That's OK but don't make shit up about it. You pile into the press for doing this and you swallow the whole thing. You have a pension right? Answer the last one as a matter of priority. What proportion of the workforce is on £80k or above then? I’m sure you’ll bamboozle your way out of this with your jargon and such, or you’ll fudge the figures by including interns or new hires...the city is a corrupt mess full of jobs that add no value to society whatsoever, they just move money around.

You seem to have a beef with anyone earning anything decentYou get nothing from the state on the NMW either. I’m sure people on £15k a year look at those on £50k with pity.

Pretending they all avoid tax just helps you stoke that inner fire
I'm a socialist but I'm struggling with your perspective
Are the gregg's lot on Universal credit not getting min wage ?
Most of the Greggs lot will be part time.
I am not against people earning good money, but I am against unjustified excess at the top of society whilst the government hack and slash at the pillars of the welfare state, thanks to the unjustified excess in the financial sector.
Risk and reward though , a lot of folk but their necks on the chopping block starting up businesses , reward comes later , no one in their right mind could object to that.
Reap what you sow @Frijj
The very top tier wasn't in your early commentsIm not sure if I’m misunderstanding you or you me, but I’m saying the top 0.5% are the massive tax dodgers. Not you.
My official wages ,I agreeMost of the Greggs lot will be part time.

You seem to think I have a problem with you when there’s about three or four grand difference in our wages.
The very top tier wasn't in your early comments
You mentioned high earners etc several times
Your point was t isn't fair
The greggs lot are in the same system as millions earning a bit more and we all get on with it .The super wealthy aren't even worth talking about
By voting tories in we've given them a pat on the back to carry on
Come the revolution anyone earning more or driving a better car than @Frijj will be the first against the wall.
Bitter bitter man.
You mean people like Gordon brown that deregulated the industry? That charlatan. You really have no idea about banking do you?Am I supposed to be grateful to the charlatans that fucked the economy and gave us austerity for the last ten year, all because I have a pension?
I know there are good people working those jobs - you for example - but the excess and the greed amongst the higher ups in the financial sector is astronomical. Humongous bonuses paid out whilst people are living on the streets, going to food banks, scraping a living to feed their kids man.
It’s wrong. This isn’t just. This isn’t fair. This is the astronomically wealthy gaming society for their own ends and f***ing over the rest.
I do enjoy this argument. Anyone who takes exception to a deeply unfair and unjust economic system is branded by those who benefit from it as “bitter”
I’m not bitter, I’m fortunate enough that I can scrape a living for myself. Not everyone is - and it’s them I’m concerned about.
