Greenwood's future

Not cleared , but the fact CPS have dropped charges means he is not guilty (in the eyes of the law at least). Would love to know how much the girl was paid to withdraw her evidence.
Had everything been hunky dory, manure would not be peddling him now, the fact they are, then some of the conjecture must be horrendous.

And did they get advice from a criminal lawyer - because the reports all say it was the club’s general counsel who provided the legal input.

Finally - reports that there are “no plans” for him to return after a loan. This seems to be hedging bets. It’s an odd situation.

They seem to have been willing to reintegrate him but have now changed their minds. There is an acceptance he made ‘mistakes’ but what do they/does he mean? If there is an alternative, innocent explanation for the information in the public domain the club could release it. If there isn’t, then why was the plan to reintegrate him?

Sounds like they want him, but can’t have him as there will be hell on so want to sell him (because they can’t sack him).

She hasn’t been paid. They’re in a relationship and also she’s given birth to his bairn not so long ago.

Very bizarre set of circumstances, right from the get go her father was making some very peculiar comments.

If I did that to our lass, her fatha would have me taken away and chopped up somewhere.

Are you really confused as to why Manchester United might finally got rid? They floated the option of keeping him because they still thought they could get value out of him, but were quickly reminded that a poster boy for coercive sex and violence against a woman is not wanted. Clinging to 'well he wasn't found guilty in a court of law' like it's some absolute moral position is excusing just how vile his behaviour was.

Man Utd were hoping the negative press would blow over. Greenwood has basically had a trial by media for a global brand

If it was anything to do with women, he would have been sacked ages ago and would not be peddled half way round the world with the victim in tow

very, very strange indeed. Truth is stranger than fiction and perhaps she has been paid by becoming his WAG.
 
Utds board “consulted” their women’s team. Three of which were at the WC and the board were waiting for them to return before asking their opinions. I think that piece of cowardice was the final straw with just about everyone with even just a passing interest in the case.
All the money the board take from the club and they try to pass the decision making Buck to a bunch of lasses suffering the most heartbreaking defeat of their careers! They’ve not got the intelligence, wit, nous, knowledge or common sense between them to form a decent argument as to why he should be allowed back. Ditto their failed attempt to join the ESL recently.
Under their current ownership and board they’re going nowhere fast. Serves them fuckin right.

I agree her dads comments did seem very odd, there were rumours about him being done for rape weeks before anything leaked/the arrest so do wonder if the victim had already got back together at the time of arrest

First message I got on WhatsApp about it was November 2020 over a year before anything came out

It's as if you see your neighbour regularly bray his missus all over, report it but she refuses to testify or make a statement. What do you do? "innocent until proven guilty" is a specific legal term applying to how the state treats alleged criminals, not a fact. As soon as you commit a crime you're guilty of it, it's up to the state to be able to prove it to make you guilty in a strictly legal sense which is extremely difficult to do in cases of domestic abuse.

Exactly right, but its very important we stick to innocent until proven guilty. The herd mob mentality on here to convict Greenwood is enough to prove that.

plenty about the case none of us know about, no point in playing armchair judge and jurors.

Had endless arguments about this on another thread and was ridiculed for saying that Mendy had not been 'proved innocent' as this does not mean the same as 'not guilty'.

She was recording an audition tape for Hollyoaks, and one of her friends is training to be a special effects makeup artist and she let them practice on her.
