Greek Island Holiday Help

Will look out for that.We are not too far way (Ixia)
It's in the narrow cobbled streets in the old town. Loads of the usual leather and other shops and it's up a hill. You'd probably have to use Google maps to find it.

I had a meal in Ixia with my 2 son's about a dozen years ago when we were out in a hired jeep. I can't remember why? Must have just been hungry 🙂

We did the usual sort of things. Drove to Lindos, did a spot of go karting near Falaraki and went to Rhodes harbour on the evening.

Just had a look. Yeah I think we'll try it out, cheers.

Try out this Rodos old town restaurant we went to last year. Beautiful place with lovely food. Treat your good lady 🙂
If you try lofaki, best ping them an email as it can get busy. Also be aware he charges a supplement (not worth it) for the tables on the grass. Just get a patio table. If you are around Kos town they will also offer to arrange transport there and back for you - for cash of course - the driver he sent for us couldn’t speak a word of English   18 euros each way which is a bit steep but it took the hassle away for us. Picked up and dropped back at the hotel was a real bonus. If not there is plenty of parking. My personal view is once you have been and seen Zia once then you have done it, and it’s so busy it’s a pain in the arse. The view of the sunset is better from lofaki, and the view out over Kos town to Turkey is cracking too, even when it gets dark. Food is decent enough and it can be as reasonable or expansive as you want. If you want a very good Greek/Turkish food option then try Serif in Platani village. The owner is football mad and I’ve promised to take him a Sunderland scarf for his collection when I visit next.

Probably been in it. Koukos in Rhodes town is canny in the new town. We tend to drive up into the villages for bait. Been to some class places. Favourite is one called Paranga in Apollona. Well worth a visit if anyone has a car hired.

It's open air and all old stone, really different. Check it out, you'll know if you've been.

We stayed in Skala it was lovely and yes we’d go back . However kefalonia has very little public transport and to get out and about it’s booking trips or hire a car , maybe staying in lassi gives you a bit more scope.
That suited us at the time but we’ve got to the point where we prefer exploring under our own steam after a couple of trips that were just awful . Having said that Skala itself had plenty of restaurants and bars, some nice walks and there was also boat trips to Ithaca done from skala beach .
Kos is a much smaller island and much easier to get around, we’ve stayed in Kefalos and Tigaki
she just booked us a weeks holiday here (Skala) leaving 18th july

Booked a table there for tonight.
For all your Gyro needs in Rhodes town go to Steki near where bus station/stops are. Lovely out of there. We stay in Pefkos but when we have a night up Rhodes town me Greek mate always makes me bring a couple from there back for him.
