Greek Island Holiday Help

The main criteria are that it has to be picturesque, near the water and have plenty of decent tavernas / restaurants where we can sit preferably by a lovely harbour or somesuch and relax with nice local seafood etc. But no thumping house beats from local bars, no cheesy cafes advertising a full bloody english for 5 euros, don't want it to be too built up, and so on. Think Malcesine on Lake Garda but shifted to Greece. Any ideas based on good experiences, anyone?

The resort of Kassiopi in Corfu is nice .
 
Been to many Greek islands, they all offer what your ,looking for. As a start point, both Rhodes and Corfu are just right to start with.
 
Love the Greek islands like. Done Corfu and Mykonos most recently (the latter for mine and the wife’s honeymoon), and got Zante booked for August. Would definitely recommend Corfu, we stayed not that far from the main town and there was a canny marina nearby with restaurants and bars. Was quite flat though so not much high views, but we could see across the bay plenty hilly areas where you’d get that.
