Texas Scramble today in the wind and pissing rain this afternoon. Our team managed a net 58, which still wasn't good enough for the win, 4th place by 1.1 strokes once handicaps were taken into account.

Little further but appleby is a fun course for a day out, soup and sandwiches at half way. Love the short par 3 with a drop like the edge of Everest.

Might be a touch more than an hour but Goswick is the best course in Northumberland by a mile and good to play in Winter. For a fun day out head to Bamburgh which is again good in Winter.
Brampton is worth a shout , played there in August.
