In fairness there were quite a few on here that knew what a terrible appointment it was before a ball was kicked, I actually spent a week or two defending his record at Man Utd.
Yes I remember that. Fair play to them. I made a few excuses for him, I thought he was shafted at man Utd and to this day I believe that move ruined him. I put real soceidad down to the language barrier and just generally a bad fit. Never in a million years did I think he'd be as horrific as he was.

Was ridiculous not to give him a fair chance this season, before he's kicked a ball. Should keep his place Sunday. Played well and that will give the right message to everyone, that if you come in and play well you deserve the shirt.

Any half decent man manager would tell him he's got half a dozen games to prove he cares or he's just as bad as those he was slagging off. I said after St Johnstone we looked far more solid with him on the pitch than Cattermole, which surprised me even though my thoughts on Cattermole are well known.

Ahead of who though?

Cattermole was arguably our best player against Derby

Very impressed yesterday. I wouldn't say he will create much he will keep the ball

I think he could play more at home

The squad is taking shape with different options.

We aren't miles away. Need a winger and a striker

I don't think he'll be a playmaker in the sense he'll create things around the opposition box, but he can move the ball around and pay it forwards into space/for people to run onto. It's a different option, but he himself will need support to do it.

He might have a massive part to play this season, my mate has just text me saying Cattermole is away to a premiership team but won't tell me who, anyone else heard anything! Burnley was mentioned a month or so ago but heard nothing since!

Yep exactly my view too.

He managed us with a pervading sense of "I never really wanted this job". It was a terrible appointment. His interview must have been depressing.
