Me being worried about promotion and us getting battered… certainly not RLB being sacked (I was in the happy clapper camp all year)What was justified? Regis sack talk certainly wasn't
Dont forget Jack RudoniKLDs mate Dembélé from PSG our first signing![]()
Don't forget Jack Rudoni
It helps your chances if you don’t just scout the championship for signings. It’s shit but what’s the alternative? Go up, be labelled ‘plucky’ at the start, then ‘relegation candidates’ by Christmas. Buy a load of players who you sincerely can’t wait to see the back of by February. Come down again, a stain on the memory of the PL, ashamed that you only managed 20 points, but with parachute payments that no other bugger has and a sense of optimism for another promotion in 9 months.
Or stay in the Championship and wonder what might have been?
It's crackers isn't it.Stuff like this has always baffled me , no I don’t want to go up I’d rather lose the play off final …… absolutely batshit mental
Yes. The answer is yes.Have we spent well ? Early signs good but time will tell.
Being honest about one’s former titizm is good yeah.Ditto
You forgot to add the word 'smartly' on the end of that sentence. Not one person would have predicted we would spend £170 million
Agreed, we aren't doing well because we spunked a load of money at the transfer market and grabbed whatever we could. The choices have been key. As has getting the team to gel together so quickly - other teams will be looking and trying to see how we managed that. Signing that many players in a single window should have caused massive problems with players not knowing each other and having to learn each others play. Those problems didn't happen and I don't think anyone outside the club itself has any clue why.You forgot to add the word 'smartly' on the end of that sentence.
Ipswich spent a load last year but it was mostly on the best Championship players, whereas we've invested in some of the best young talent from all over Europe.
That's the only part I disagree with. Everyone knows the main reason that has happened and its very simple in my eyes.Agreed, we aren't doing well because we spunked a load of money at the transfer market and grabbed whatever we could. Xhaka is a completely different type of Sunderland player than we are used to.That's the only part I disagree with. Everyone knows the main reason that has happened and its very simple in my eyes.
Granit Xhaka.
He commands the utmost respect and demands rhe best out of his teammates.
And we have built to progressWe’ve had our chance to improve all season
However we have not
Now we are in the playoffs with a team not on the up shall we say
We need to build and progress if we want to move forward
We can still go up
And the challenge , we were always going to improveIt's crackers isn't it.
Even if we'd been gash after going up, you'd be mad not to want an incredible Wembley weekend and the PL riches.
Is there an opposite of Gold forum?
Embarrassing stuff!
