Is this the main handicap we have in attracting players.

We don't get relegated every season, but Sunderland is always north of nowhere.I thought it was relegation.
Have a training ground in somewhere like Surrey, the players can live in the south, just fly them up for home games.Simple.Is this the main handicap we have in attracting players.

Times have changed since the early days of the Premier League when Newcastle attracted players of the calibre of Ginola and Asprilla. Who was the last superstar to sign for them? Most of the world class players are attracted to London or the North West these days. Look at the players QPR and Fulham have been able to attract recently, would they attract them if they were based in the North East of England? Its a myth mate. It never caused Newcastle any problems. Languishing around the bottom of the premiership year on year doesnt help. Plus, we don't know our arse from our elbows when it comes to attracting and utilising top players.
Giaccherini was one i'd never thought would come here.
Actually, we're North of most places. We don't get relegated every season, but Sunderland is always north of nowhere.

I agree. Is this the main handicap we have in attracting players.
This was mooted in the press for some team a few years back. Might have been a Russian team who were going to do it.
I still don't think it's a daft idea.![]()
