We don't get relegated every season, but Sunderland is always north of nowhere.

Its a myth mate. It never caused Newcastle any problems. Languishing around the bottom of the premiership year on year doesnt help. Plus, we don't know our arse from our elbows when it comes to attracting and utilising top players.

Giaccherini was one i'd never thought would come here.

Times have changed since the early days of the Premier League when Newcastle attracted players of the calibre of Ginola and Asprilla. Who was the last superstar to sign for them? Most of the world class players are attracted to London or the North West these days. Look at the players QPR and Fulham have been able to attract recently, would they attract them if they were based in the North East of England?

Top players can be more selective these days as the pay on offer is huge virtually everywhere so why choose the North East?

No the mags seem to attract ok players, and both ours and there lot live in the same areas so no its got fuck all to do with it.

It's all about money.... Gone are the days newcastle and Sunderland will pay stupid money, look at Remy.. Qpr allegedly offered him money we could/ would never match..so much so he didn't even meet us again as he knew the ceiling on the contract... Same with Gomis and grenier...even Andy Carroll nearly tripled his wages going to Liverpool..If any north east club is after a player any of the big spenders are then we've no chance of getting them.

It's Religious Knowledge and History. If they don't know who we are or what our religion is all about, they can gan and fuck off

We never used to have issues with it but now I genuinely believe that Geographical location does play a part in the lure of top players, money of course is the main issue also. This happens in not only England but most major nations

train in London then.[DOUBLEPOST=1397120666][/DOUBLEPOST]its a 40 minute flight plus a few taxis then a team bus from Newcastle.

Have a training ground in somewhere like Surrey, the players can live in the south, just fly them up for home games.Simple.

This was mooted in the press for some team a few years back. Might have been a Russian team who were going to do it.

I still don't think it's a daft idea. :):):)

Anzi used to train in Moscow and fly into Dagestan for their home games. Used to also play their European games in Moscow too as that's where we played them last season
