There's no reason to keep him from here. The manager didn't play him when he had limited options let alone when he had what he thought was his best eleven available, so you can't keep him around on a big salary when the likelihood is that he won't play much under the current manager.

Not made the Dutch squad. Roefs and Brobbey are in.
Unlucky for the lad but they've only picked 7 defenders and one of them, Timber, hasn't played since March.
Intelligent use of the 26 man squad that. In comparison Tuchel has picked 5 centre halves.... ..just in case we need to change a game.
The stats lad who has predicted the winners of the last four world cups has predicted the Dutch this time. He's played it down and said he just got lucky 4 times in 16 years... well he is a stats nerd so can't have expected much more.

Dont think its just to do with wages mind,I have said for ages that unless we have unlimited transfer funds we cannot be spending 20 mil on someone who wouldnt be in the team if Ballard and Alderete were available.We have Nordie, Ballard ,Alderete,Reinaldo,then 09 and Hume are out of lineup both outstanding on Sunday especially 09.So yes we probs need 1/2 more defenders but they should be either loans or young upcoming recruits .Whatever cash available must be spent on adding goals to this squad IMHO

Really surprising if true (obviously in a good way!). Hasn't been played anywhere near enough this season for my money.

Obviously we're heading into Europe which the players will love, the spirit is good in the dressing room and it's PL money - but honestly thought he'd still fancy somewhere else.

Perhaps it's a signal that Slot is out the door at Liverpool, as much as anything!
