Geertruida

I can only think of the occasional lack of working back and tracking back has hindered Geertruida. There's been several occasions where its been a bit evident - Brentford away in midfield I thought he lacked any kind of intensity and he was taken off and didn't play for a month IIRC. Tracking back against Arsenal away for one of their goals he was one our deepest players and about 32 players got back before him.

I think early season we saw he was a bit too lax on and off the ball to be playing centre half regularly in the PL and the he has good and bad moments in midfield. He looks a quality right back to me and looks excellent on the ball when he shows up in midfield and he's a really good option to have, but I feel Regis just hasn't seen enough intensity at times, which is a shame.
I agree with your assessment which made it a welcome surprise to see 100% commitment to the team from start to finish today. His best game for us by a mile.

Was brilliant today

Doesn’t get in our starting back 4 though and isn’t shifting xhaka out the middle is he so he’s a backup player

I’m gutted he’s not staying but can’t blame him for wanting to go somewhere and play every week

All the best and thank you

I would be in favour of signing him, but I can't blame him if he didn't want to, he's found himself second choice in at least 3 positions. Doesn't help that by far his best performances have been today and away at the Saudis.

Fair play to the lad putting a shift in like that today when it’s come out he’s not staying and from the outside been treated like shit not getting any game time. Getting the crowd going too was mint, what a guy

MOTM for me today absolutely superb… can cover multiple positions, big question is does he want to stay after playing very little but if he is happy to stay I would be signing him tomorrow

His attitude seems good and his performances at both RB and CB have generally been excellent.

It feels like we've made a mistake in not playing him more than we have (especially at RB) that has led into not the other big mistake of not signing him permanently.

Even if he was considering the Liverpool interest in January he hasn't let it affect his performances or gone on strike so it would seem a bit silly to have frozen him out for so long until just now on that basis.
