Not signing him is bonkers and stupid business. Even if the fucker isn’t happy and wants to go to liverpool. We put ourselves in control by signing him on loan. Sign and sell at a higher price. Immediate profit and everyone involved are happy.

It’s hardly unusual nowadays. I don’t get why we don’t sign him.

Without anyone jumping in. Yes, I’d rather sign him and keep him too but if not…

I assume it was a optional clause where we had agreement with club but not player, we can't sign him if he doesn't sign a contract.
 
Reportedly in the top 3 in terms of salary. Thats the reason we’ll not be looking at signing him. Shame as he’s a very good player.

Only thing I’ve had issue with and talbi being dropped seemingly at random sometimes after having a good game. That and the Hume hybrid role it’s hasn’t worked way more than the odd time it has and with it has limited gertys minutes.

But he’d surely deserve it if he keeps performing at right back like that? If we are really looking at top half half finishes then those are the wages you have to pay for players of his quality
 
Regis has dropped a bollock in not playing him enough. Sticking Hume in CM whilst he was sat on the bench with Xhaka injured was just bizarre, and he probably doesn't feel wanted enough.

A real shame, because he's a cracking player, especially for the 17/18m fee he would have cost and the positions he can cover.

Some bad mismanagement by the gaffer on this one.

He’d get 2 signing on fees. Ha’way Chris, it wouldn’t be the first signing of its type. Clause to say he moves on. We profit, he does.

This. It would be like signing two quality players for that amount, due to him being able to play three of four positions to a high standard.
 
Think he costs too much for us currently, with the wages he’d earn he’d need to be basically first choice defender ahead of any other option.

I do think he’s a good player and had a very good game, but I can see why we may not be able to afford his demands or why he won’t want to sign for us permanently.

I’m confident we’ll replace him in the summer.
