Geertruida

Bottom line is he's not our player and if we are not taking up the option to buy, Leipzig can sell him...
So many things we don’t know for example what happens if the season long loan deal has no recall option for Leipzig?

In that case they are stuck as are Liverpool unless they can find a deal that suits us.

The above could be wrong but truth is none of us really know

If that were true then the value of this loan arrangement is at least the value we've agreed to sign him for. He's effectively our player in that scenario.
He’s not though. He’s on loan

We haven’t triggered any clause (if we even can in January), he’s a Leipzig player

There's a chance that even if he'd played every minute he'd still want to go to Liverpool.
Totally agree the visitors lost their best player to Liverpool despite having just won a trophy and being in the champs league, unfortunately that’s the way of the footballing world.

We just need to be on top of our game in terms of any deal we get and be ready to go with an adequate replacement

With the loan to buy option if it’s true being in place does that give us any kind of leverage into the bargaining. I mean Liverpool are flush here and I think ready to be rinsed.

People on this board think the management team just sit around doing Sudoku’s all day and then go in to panic mode when the phone rings??

Ffs!!
I'm sure they don't, but at the same time it all depends on when they knew about this. If they've known for a while and that's why he didn't play against West ham then hopefully they've got a solution lined up. If it's come out of the blue (which I'm guessing it hasn't) then it's a bit different. They might have a great list of players they'd like, they might even have had discussions with agents, but convincing their club to sell, convincing the player to move when there's an offer on the table, all with 30 or so hours left in the window wouldn't be easy

It's cheeky as fuck from Liverpool mind. The lad is on a season long loan with an agreed future fee and no recall clause, that should be as near to unavailable as you can get. Not really arsed as long as we can replace him, but doing that well with this little time left and the number of positions he covers will be hard despite all the contingency planning the club will have in place

You do realise we have a say to let him go? We aren’t going to let him go if we don’t have someone lined up.

Its 1 game against Burnley at home with Diarra, Sadiki, Le Fee and Rigg to choose from.

The club will have something lined up before the deadline I'm sure
Aye 100% marra

Absolute minimum a CM will come in. Would like to be greedy and hope for a RW as well. Maybe a loan
