Hutchinson is linked to a head Wembley job, so he's done OK out of SAFC. His last game today, then bit of payoff and down to blighty!

Just stating facts. The jealously from some posters on here is staggering. Local lad doing well for himself and people just want to slate the lad. Unbelievable.

I know folk who've had the misfortune to deal with him on a regular basis and over a matter of years , I shall be polite and just say some of the criticism I've heard has been not very complimentary on a business level.

Once Byrne left he was on borrowed time , dead man walking was the expression I heard from an impeccable source.

Very well paid with a nice title for a canny lad , but unfortunately canny lads have to come up with the goods on a regular basis , from what I've heard he didn't.

But don't let the fact that you played football with him as kids stop anyone else having an opinion different to yours.

...erm ive just stated a fact that he is not a mag. Not once have I mentioned his dealings in business. Read throught posts properly before going off on one is my suggestion.

the concerts were to have showed a profit, but they over the last 3 years have lost £390,000 and it was dumped into the club accounts as security losses signed off by who???
who are shareholders in one of the promotion companies who signed off the internal and external catering at the gigs who signed off the security contracts??? not just hair

No-one believed me when I told them the concerts made a loss for the club and that Bain said this himself at a meeting with supporters, Short and Moyes

Based on what? I've knew Hutchy many years and reason I was so vocal(raging) about him on here was because I knew how little he offered and what he gets up to behind the scenes. You won't realise but Hutchy is an utter prick and trust me, this club is well rid.
He's always been professional, forthright, knowledgeable, charismatic, good humoured, accommodating and eager to please. I appreciate he was probably schmoozing and it was in his interest to keep us happy but that's a big part of his job and he did it well. I can only speak on my experiences of him and appreciate that won't be the whole picture and you can only do the same.

I do agree with that, very much in the right place at the right time

And to be fair. Simon Wilson's salary had to be paid from somewhere. Good trade off.
Wilson's salary is more than covered by those left vacant by Congerton and Sachs. A replacement for Hutchinson will be brought in. You're grossly exaggerating his salary too. The last accounts show that.

Not really sure what your point is here. Without doubt there are people on here who slate him through our jealousy whilst some clearly understand what a role like that really should be doing - and looking at our revenues and costs he has been very well paid for very little.

I don't believe he deserves a lot of the criticism he is getting but what have people got to be jealous about?

Why should Sunderland AFC be bothered about the local economy? I would rather they took decisions which are for the best interests of the football team.

Are you for real?

Some very extreme views on here.

I've done quite a lot of business at the SOL over the years and Gary has always ensured a quality service. I think his strengths are in having high standards of customer care and driving the quality of food and service.
The Invest in Africa idea was a good one in theory but relied on 2 key factors to drive its success -

1) the team being at least average in the PL
2) Milliband delivering on his promises to use his experience in Parliament to grow some key relationships (he did nothing)

My experience is that GH was infinitely more credible in his role than Byrne was in hers (she was grossly incompetent IMO) -but everything is relative I guess.

The bloke Byrne brought in (Mike someone) to be International Commercial Director or something like that was the biggest charlatan I have ever met and I've met many. I literally had the bloke sussed within a minute, the claims he made around Man U and Formula 1 as part of introducing himself had every alarm bell in the world ringing!!!!

For a six figure salary, he delivered a high level of customer service and high quality food?

Sounds like what a MacDonalds employee would put on their CV?!?!?!?!?!

To summarise , a local lad done well , liked by some who knew him , disliked by some who didn't know him , been carried for too long but found out by the new boss , then moves off to pastures new.

Nothing new to see here , it happens all the time.

Move on please gentlemen.
