It does help if you're a director of a football club who earns those hundreds of thousands that you perform relative to your salary.

No one can argue with a straight face any of our directors have done that.

Hey that's another good point. Presume they'll replace him like. Or you could probably employ 10 staff to do commercial and marketing and that for his salary.

To damn right it should go against him. A premier the football club in the modern era makes a crazy proportion of its revenues from TV deals - and the commercial director has zero involvement in negotiating that. He doesn't even have any involvement with the major costs of the business either - player wages.

He's simply another example of crazy money from the PL gravy train where far to often wages are out of kilter with the real world. Can't blame those people for taking it though.

Lot of people clearly are jealous when you read this board. Good luck to anyone earning whatever they do.

To many people don't really understand that salaries aren't always about how "hard" you work but often about being in the right place in the market at the right time.

I do agree with that, very much in the right place at the right time

And to be fair. Simon Wilson's salary had to be paid from somewhere. Good trade off.

Not really sure what your point is here. Without doubt there are people on here who slate him through our jealousy whilst some clearly understand what a role like that really should be doing - and looking at our revenues and costs he has been very well paid for very little.
