Founders bar

It's not for me, but I can definitely see the appeal of it pre match for some people.

It'll be somewhere warm and dry with lots of seating, in theory a better pint than you would get on the concourse and you are already inside the stadium so no having to queue for the turnstiles if you want to carry on drinking until basically just before kick off.

Im not sure they really need to offer much more than that to be honest. I'd expect it to do well
If there’s gonna be game by game options I’d do it for midweek games

Went in at FT, thought it was spot on, good atmosphere and a decent pint of Roker Roar. Paid 30 quid for 3 pints of Madri, pint of RR and a bottle of Rekorderlig cider. Spotted Reidy on the way out.
I think if they opened a few more of these around the perimeter of the ground it might encourage more people to stay until the final whistle.

They should try and open one in each of the stands tbh. Plenty would pay for access to a proper bar

absolutely spot on.

Once upon a time, having a season ticket felt special. Now it feels like it's only a method to avoid having the palava of having to buy individual tickets on ticketmaster every week. The only real perk. Don't even get a physical ticket anymore so it doesn't even feel like you're getting anything!

Once they hand over the club shop to the corporates, they'll upgrade the BCB to something not accessible by anyone who isn't paying top dollar and so on.
This is how it is though. Raising revenues. Its corporate revenues that keep season card prices cheap. We all know that our season card prices are very reasonable. We need to raise corporate revenues. This is all fine by me.

Lad s
Not bad on first visit. Loads of screens, half showing the lasses cup game, the rest had rugby on. Lad singing in the corner followed by stupidly loud DJ. Mad when you're having to shout at people sitting next to you. Reidy, Monty, Superdick in attendance. You can order food via terminals and collect it from the concourse. Drinks options bog standard, Roker Roar isn't the best, especially when served in a Carling Glass! Hopefully the roving photographer didn't catch me drinking from that.

Lad singing? DJ? No thanks.

How many tiers of 'fan' will this mean now!?

I think that this is one thing Sunderland do really well. The laddering of ticket prices and offers means more “premium” tickets are within reach of more people more often.

I watch the lads in quite a few home ends around London and the tickets tend to be £20-£35. Any kind of upgrade above that is around £120.

I find offers like the BCB (and hopefully the Founders) bridge the big price gap between regular tickets and hospitality and make it more accessible for people to premise their match day occasionally.

At the SoL, I always use the BCB and just wish more grounds had a similar offer for the price.

We went in for an hour after the game. It was £6.55 for a pint of Roker Roar, in a glass not plastic! Decent enough bar, I wouldn't pay for a season ticket in there but would be happy to upgrade once or twice a season if that was an option. Unfortunately, I heard it's not going to be, I was told that you'll get a free pint on arrival and a free programme as part of the package though.

Free entry?

The food situation seems a bit odd. It’s obviously down to the location of the bar / kitchen so it’s always going to be an imperfect solution.

But it looks like you order inside the bar then have to collect it on the normal concourse at a collection window, while everyone who doesn’t have a ticket for the bar stands and looks thinking how do I get that food

I was in here as a guest tonight via my work with us being a Regional sponsor. Decent atmosphere and crack.

Free drink on entry and free programme at half time

Busker on pre and post match

£6 a pint.

3 options of food

Rollover premium Bratwurst £7.95
Nachos not sure how much
Sri Lankan Curry not sure how much

Pay in the the self serve machine and the go and collect outside to bring back in and eat.

Thing was when it first opened there was nothing around it only the closed business units. Now you have stables, Hilton hotel, aquatic centre FOL and the other things opening soon + the bridge in August
Yes maybe people having gone swimming might pop in.
Can’t see anyone choosing it over the Sheepfolds or Hilton tho.
Surely sheepfolds being nearby will help it?
Maybe marginally, but who would choose a low level hospitality area with disinterested servers over somewhere like the Sheepfolds?
