I went tonight. Complementary drinks on offer, which was probably to be expected, but nevertheless nice.
In terms of the decor, some would say it’s austere, but I actually think it’s quite understated and classy. Each to their own. It’s clearly trying to give a Victorian feel, which again won’t be to everyone’s taste.
I don’t really bother with food on a matchday, so not too arsed about having to go to the concourse for that, but there are lots of seats and lots of screens. Conversely, in some parts of the BCB (far end), the amount of screens diminish.
If you want a cappuccino or a latte or whatever, I noticed they had a machine for those (not the bog standard instant stuff you generally get).
Toilets on concourse but have been tarted up.
I chose a seat in U21, a couple of rows from the back.
The same seat without the Founders offer is £580. When you add on the complementary matchday programme, which I would otherwise buy, it’s £328 the difference. In the championship, that equates to around £14 a game for bar access.
Is it worth it? For me, next season, yeah. A pint in a glass, fully stocked bar, a bit of comfort and warmth, somewhere to kill a bit of time post match. If it’s a let down, I’ll shift the following year.
