Forthcoming gigs.

I’ve seen them a couple of times. The audience is a bit laddish and beer chucking is not for me.
We were further back from that thankfully
Saw Phil Odgers and Bobby Valentino at old cinema launderette in Durham last night very good they were.
Like the laundrette quirky little place - I was at Bearpark club watching 1977 on Saturday

Any Eddi Reader fans on here? She's doing a couple of nights at the Cumberland Arms in June for some reason. She has pretty much sold out the Fire Station in April, as she often has at the Sage/Glasshouse. 'Intimate' doesn't really do it justice!

She came on and did a guest spot with KT Tunstall at her I went to in Glasgow a couple of weeks back. Her voice still sounded great, and she seemed like she had good banter and was good with a crowd from the brief time she was on stage.

Should be a good gig, though 'Perfect' is the only song I know to be honest. I was only 7 when it was a hit, distinctly remember it being on the radio relentlessly back then!

Little planned this year.

Off to the Salty Dog Cruise but Flogging Molly have pulled out due to illness.
Need to decide if I’m working Glastonbury this year again or going to go to Tons of Rock in Oslo for something a bit different.

Skinny Lister announced yesterday that they were joining the Salty Dog Cruise after the withdrawal of Flogging Molly. Every cloud …..

Saw Francesca Pidgeon (as Dilettante) at an instore at Reflex yesterday. She is brilliant. Have tickets for the full band at the Cluny next month but with her loops and multiple mics she is pretty much a band by herself. She played keyboards, guitars, sax, sticks, a coffee mug and a copy of David Byrne's 'How Music Works'!

A bit like this:

That's quite hypnotic.

Is it not Flogging Molly’s actual gig/festival? The Caribbean one?! I’d love to do that like.
Love The scratch and Peat n Diesel as well.
Aye, been listening to the Scratch a bit more lately. Good version of Finnigens Wake. Just getting to the point of desperation to see Lankum now. They’ve got a few gigs abroad, but I need one in the Firestation. Or Pop Recs

I'm not usually a fan of the old Celtic music but saw PnD at Lindisfarne and there are a few of us who now go and see the few bands that are in that genre.

Only listened to them a few times. Missed them at the Peacock cos I was away for the night. I’ll give them another listen.
Live they are amazing. Seeing them at Digital Friday 7 March. was going to be Riverside but that is defunct.

Black Country, New Road coming up at the Glasshouse in September - should be good. Or could be. Maybe. I was gutted when I decided (post-Covid) that I was a bit old to be seeing them at Newcastle Uni when they toured after their first album. Then (for those who don’t know) they released their second, the singer left, and the band decided to carry on without him but never again play any of the songs they’d recorded up to that point. So I have no idea what they’ll sound like (bar the last live album), but I don’t want to kick myself for missing them again…

Pulp garn on tour in the Summer, was hoping they would after announcing they were reuniting to headline Tramlines in Sheffield.

Good to have the best 90's Britpop band getting back together this year as well as Oasis

Saw that. My fave Britpop band and they're excellent live. Jarvis is a one off! Would love to see them again but don't think I can afford it.
