Forthcoming gigs.

Currently in Bristol again. This time James
If anyone gets the chance to go and see James, snap them tickets up.
Tonight has been in my top 10 of gigs
Amazing

Just booked for Darlo the other day. Was waiting for fixtures to come out in case we were home on the 5th.

Enjoyed Muse last night. They put on a great show.

The Warning were great and enjoyed them. Twin Atlantic were just loving it. Liked them too.

Muse are another big noise band. I couldn’t get to Plymouth the other week as we were in Bristol the following day for Artic Monkeys and 2 stadium gigs in 2 days would have stretched it.
Someone mentioned it on another thread that going to a gig isn’t a treat anymore. It is for me and I like to make a bit more of it as I’ve normally got a decent round trip to get to it. 120 miles round to Exeter , 40 round trip for Plymouth and a 250 is to Bristol and back.
It’s so much more attractive jumping on the metro and changing at monument

We did Arctic Monkeys and Kiss back to back and I was wrecked like 😊

It is a treat. I go with my teenage daughter and love spending time with her.

My daughter is my gig buddy . She’s 23 mind and doesn’t mind driving too which is canny.
She’s carrying on upto the Lakes today and I’m on the train heading back to the Duchy in the heat with a bit of a thick head.

Laura Jane Grace was fantastic last night - 3rd time we’ve seen her at the same venue and she’s one of the most engaging artists I’ve seen.

Support was Weakened Friends - very enjoyable if you like that women-fronted 90s alt. Kind of Breeders-y or similar. Going to check them out a bit more

The travelling in your neck of the woods will always make going to a gig more of an event. Stadium gigs also involve a lot more expense than the gigs that I go to which are rarely more expensive than £20. Skinny Lister are playing The Depo in Plymouth in December and the tickets are £19.

Couldn’t go to that as I was at Peter Gabriel but my brother went. Seeing them in Halifax in a couple of weeks though, can’t wait!

Piece Hall is a really good addition to the list of venues. Was there on Wednesday for War On Drugs/Warpaint. Well organised, easy access and no bother getting drinks/food/ a piss. Some really nice boozers very close by too.

That's good to know as I've fancied a couple of gigs there but when I need to piss, I really need to piss rather than standing in a queue for half an hour.

Was just about to message and ask how they were?

And if you managed to find anywhere open for a pint afterwards

Bit like festival toilets really, with plenty of urinals as well as cubicles with one zig-zaging queue that just keeps moving.
My sisters mate is the head honcho there. She got the funds to redevelop it
She's done very well.

It’s a great place
Haven’t been for a show yet as Halifax is a bit of a ball ache to get too
