He then got the players in 1-2-1 in his office 👍🏻

That what the Faulk podcast is an interesting listen with the Blackburn fella on it .
It would seem not all doom and gloom to be expected .
Alex Neils first press conference at stoke before they play Swansea is now available on you tube ..

Anyone heard anything about length of the contract?

Also that Michael Walker from The Athletic reckons Mowbray in the dugout tomorrow night.

While I agree. Slightly different appointing a bloke who has spent the last 5 years above us compared to staff from the conference.

We spent so long beneath him because we were appointing complete plodders like parkinson and Johnson. We're doing the exact same thing now, just at a higher level. No forward thinking, no inspiration, no outside the box thinking, just a bog standard middle of the road manager that would've glady taken any old job in the championship.

How on earth do you know that ? I would guess you have no idea wether he would have accepted “ any job “
I get you dint like the appointment but he’s here now .
We move on

He's probably the same level as Neil to be fair. Agree it's not exactly outside the box thinking, let's see how long the deal is.

An article in The Athletic from May said he was leaving Blackburn, mutually agreed, partly because he felt guilty for missing a chunk of his son's childhood and wanted to be back home. I don't think he'd be taking any job.

He's a mediocre mid table championship manager, who has shown he has no issue going to small clubs. He's not successful enough to get a big job -(apart from celtic where he failed miserably). Perhaps I should've added "in my opinion" as I don't claim to be itk in any way.

Could certainly be argued him and Neil are similar in stature tbf, but at least neil has a more relatively recent history of success. We know what we're going to get with Mowbray. Nothingness.

Im in now and looking forward to the morra HTL

Championship stability and whether we like it or not that is what we need.
I disagree. We have an exciting, young, talented squad and I'd hoped we'd use a little outside the box thinking to hire a coach to match and get us kicking on. We've seen against two of the supposedly top sides in Sheffield United and Norwich that we're more than capable of matching them. This league doesn't have the massive gulf in quality that many would have us believe, and I see no reason at all that with a couple of decent additions we shouldn't be pushing for the playoffs, either straight away or next season. Hiring a Tony Mowbray, is simply accepting nothingness and writing off the next few seasons to mediocrity.
