We’re not doing parties. God no. We’re going to the pub to celebrate keeping them alive for a year.

A number of DIY jobs that I've put off for years but were quite straightforward once I did them (with one exception).
Resealed the bath. It looks a bit of a clip but does the job. I might redo it.
Patched a leak on the flat roof.
Fixed a tap that has been leaking for years. I have fixed taps before by replacing washers but this one needed me to take it apart, photograph the faulty part, put it back together, source the part online as it is discontinued then fit it again. The fitting only took ten minutes but the process took forever.
Fixed a broken aerial cable. Someone doing work on the house managed to cut it years ago but as I use the Sky box, I've never needed a proper aerial so just left it. Added two F connectors and a F coupler and now have loads of Freeview channels I didn't realise I would have access to.
Next on the list is replacing a broken roof tile.
Also need to do some painting which I have done before but I hate doing it and am particularly useless at doing it.

I've signed up for a race series, running 5k, 5 miles, 10k then 10 miles at one race a month...

I'm not a natural runner, but met some lovely people at Parkrun and we'll support each other round them.
(Ran my first 10k last weekend since the Parsnip Ladies in Sunderland 2007.... Remember @CatRyan ? @janiep ?)

The Park Run is a fantastic idea. Anybody starting out in running should do it.
