The old account has been deleted. I joined up again under this name a while back. I decided to make it obvious who I am again.

just wanted to chat cricket again as it’s been a while

thought this was carty, good to see you mara.

On the cricket.

Burns n Denly did well, exactly why I like them, both doing a job and doing it well.
Suppose it depends how anal they want to be about the light tomorrow, and whether the dark clouds produce any light drizzle
Have a feeling they’ll be cautious with the light as won’t want to risk anyone leaving the “bubble” if they get hit

Not sure its that, the first light reading always seems harsh. Its a shite rule which leaves the umpires nowhere to run!

It's like a sauna down here this morning like. After yesterday's performance when the umpires did just about everything they could to not get much play in, I expect much the same today unless it brightens up a bit.

Better forecast today, but still a chance of rain
Fri/Sat/Sun look glorious

Cricket really does let itself down at times. The insistence on calling for "lunch in 30 mins" yesterday was a joke. Effectively writing off 70 mins where play might have been possible. They need to move away from the traditions and make it far more flexible - whatever time you start, you break for lunch/tea after 2 hours and play as late as you can.....

Imagine sitting watching the rain for 90 mins, then starting at 12:30 and stopping for lunch at 1pm?:lol:

I don't get why we don't start early today, not like we have any fans that are travelling to the game

Some of the decisions made in test match cricket are baffling. Taking the early lunch yesterday and missing over an hour of decent weather.

Although I doubt many of these tests will last 5 days with the batting line ups.

Morning dew and light issues. The sun is lower and shadows longer. Suppose you can add, commercial stuff in as well. Sky pay shed loads and changing start times will have an impact on adverts etc during the broadcast.
Incredible stat from TMS. Burns is the first Englishman to score a 1000 test match runs as an opening batsmen since Cook.

Not really a shock is it?

Are Sky showing this on any channel without the piped in crowd noise by any chance?
I've been wondering if it's actually just background noise just really turned up. The voices could be just conversations of players and staff and the rest could easily just be trees rustling and traffic.
