Changes for second test?

I'd go Pope for Malan (or Burns for Malan with Cook dropping down to 3) but Bairstow bats four with Buttler taking the gloves (unless injured).

Third seamer Porter or Coad.

Malan has to go, and I’d be happy with Clarke or Pope.
I’m really still not convinced by Jennings but he probably deserves another shot
Stokes missing lengthens the tail (arguably), but I would consider Jamie Overton. Or Porter.
I was hugely against Rashid, still am, but deserves to carry on

Glad to see India “pissed it” ;)

Is Overton fit enough? He's been injured on and off for the last three seasons, remodeled his action and lost a bit of pace.

Porter does the McGrath/Philander fourth stump thing which is generally more effective than swing at Lord's.

Just checked skysports mix as it's been on there but not tonight, boxing instead.

Got loads of points I could make but stokes bowling, when fit, in England, is world class. He bowled f***ing class for Durham the other week so I’m not surprised. Reminds me of Trent bridge during 2015 ashes

He’s a brilliant batter but he will end with bowling being his best skill

He can swing it late, which is key, and has a fuckin class wrist, control both ways

He will end up taking the new ball for England

Also big fan of ed smith, bold selections, Curran bowling 85mph in England is quality

We have some talent in this country, it’s class

I’m so buzzing, few issues going on in my life, but days like this are brillliant, I love Sunderland, Durham and the England cricket team

So chuffed

Too much focus on England’s weaknesses, never gonna score 400+ much in England, the ball swings and seams

Cracking result, never in doubt. Glad I lumped a tenner on us to win when Kohli was swinging the bat on Thursday :cool:

I'd expect Woakes/Porter for Stokes to be the only change for Lords. Malan will get a 2nd (and probably 3rd) chance. Winning the game papers over the cracks.
