I think we could afford the transfer fee, but I don’t think we’d be able to afford the wages that an €80m player would demand.

Barca are completely broke and if someone actually offered them €80m for all but one or two of their players they would cry with joy and accept it before the offer gets out of the fax machine.

Obviously the player might choose our ambitious project, and it may not be purely financial.
 
He's just made s brilliant turn and set up Olmo for the goal against Espanyol, the anti-catalan team from out of Barcelona.

He's a regular on the bench/rotation player for Barca though. Yes he's 22, but he's a full Spanish international and has played over 100 games for Barcelona. He signed a 6 year contract 15 months ago, with a €500m buyout. He'll be on a sizeable salary.
