Ferland Mendy (transfer rumour)


How do we get rid of him when he's inevitably injured for the first few years of his contract on huge wages? It's been difficult to get rid of low earners like Pembele, Ba, Poveda, Anderson etc.
 
It's just one of the worst sources in the world making this link, no one else. Anything else you see is just based on re-hashing their story.

If that site were to be believed we'd now be lining up with Gonzalo Garcia, Fermin Lopez and Ferland Mendy.

They do get it wrong from time to time though. And our margin for error is much reduced from what it was in the summer. This one would be an error for me. We’ve got very little foreign player flexibility left. Left back cover is not the most impactful way of using it in my view.

I can think of 90 reasons...... the number of games he's missed through injury since 21/22 season.. he's missed 16 out of 19 games this season and 23 out of 38 last season through injury.

Cirkin missed "only" 69 games in the same period. He's almost an ever present compared to Mendy.
 
He’s a good player. Cannot see us paying for him though as it’s not a priority position. We have Reinildo who has been excellent and Cirkin who has put some good performances in since returning, enough to think he can be cover for Reinildo. We should be sorting Cirkin’s contract, he’s also more valuable to us being a home grown player than it would be signing Mendy.
