Ferland Mendy (transfer rumour)

"The medical assessments of the player back then, however, warned the board that renewing his contract would be a mistake. They identified that his fitness was extremely fragile with one expert calling it a ‘miracle’ that he was still playing professional football."
From Spanish newspapers about getting a new contract in 2024.

There's no way we're paying €11m on this guy who is 31 in june and seems finished according to doctors. We're not Burnley or West Ham. 😁
We have Reinildo, plus Cirkin deserves a new contract.

There is if they know Cirkin and Masuaki are leaving
If we replace those two with a lad who is old, foreign, paid shit loads and massively injury prone questions will need to be asked. Would be a massive waste of one of our few remaining foreign signing slots.

Too old, too expensive (mainly wages), too injury prone, too foreign. Mainly the last one for me. If we use one of our very few remaining foreign player slots on left back competition we’ve got it wrong imo.

Think this signing is very unlikely but this recruitment team have got it right a lot more often than they have got it wrong. Am sure that they go into medical history, performance, character, etc.
They will be well aware of squad rules so I would just relax and enjoy the ride.
