February 6th live footy on tv

Morning Vic, it's blowing a hoolie down here in MK so will be avoiding the canal tow path with the dogs today.

Morning tvm, hope you don't mind me asking but what line of work are you in out there ?

Morning @Cyprus, sounds like you had a great weekend in Rome, its a place we always wanted to visit but never got round to it.

Morning KK...I lived in Southampton for over 10yrs and often visited Winchester. As you know it's a beautiful place with some lovley riverside walks. The river Test is so clear you can see the trout swimming around and theres some lovley old pubs to stop off at.

Morning @Mk Mackem don't mind at all. I'm VP, Finance for an Integrated Casino Resort. ie casino, hotels and restaurants.

Afternoon everyone, we got blown all over while out with the dogs and it looks like it's even stronger now so we're staying indoors for the rest of the day.

Wasn't being nosey @thamesvalleyman but thanks for divulging 👍 it must be an interesting line of work Do the Filipinos like a bet as much as the Chinese ?

I used to work in the Playboy Club in Portsmouth right up until it closed down back in the day.

Evening TVM, I bet this all started when you won a few deutschmarks in that German bierkeller.

Luckily I didn't wake up with Lotte tattooed on my arm though 😀

I think nobody likes a bet as much as the Chinese :😀 actually the Koreans like a bet too. A real split in the Filipinos with the super wealthy and the average punter.

Also we have 3 hotels on site with about 1000 rooms in total and around 20 restaurants on site, so there's a lot of non casino visitors too.

I went to a casino in Mayfair recently there were loads of Chinese. Someone told me a lot of casinos in that area have closed because of the strict AML rules. For example the Clermont Club has closed, that was Lord Lucan's place then owned by Aspinall but latterly by a Malaysian bloke called Qwek.

Good afternoon VH, just been reading about Peter Butterworth, one of the Carry On actors. Apparently he was a POW and helped to organise The Great Escape and the Wooden Horse escape. But when he applied for a role in the Wooden Horse film, he was turned down because they said he didn't look like a POW.
BBC News - Carry On films: The star who helped World War II prisoners escape

That was an interesting read that. Thanks for posting it.

There's always loads of Chinese people near Aspers Casino in Newcastle 😁
