Italian semolina - great with most fish dishes and pastas
Crusty sourdough - great with soups, stews, and salads
Brioche - great for sandwiches, especially breakfast sandwiches
 
Fresh baked thick cut bloomer or tiger bread

If going for a loaf it has to be Jackson’s bloomer
 
Still got my own teeth, so I like bread you have to work on, not the soft mass produced stuff from supermarkets.
Fine choice of bread from these small artisan bakeries that are popping up.
Moody Baker in Barnard Castle does a good selection.
