Fan zone in town

Is there any photos knocking about of the fan zone during the England match ?
Not that I’m aware of. I know that previous ones at the likes of Park Lane have been big successes and packed. I have still been critical of this new one though and said I think in Keel Square itself with proper tables laid out would’ve been better and probably encourage more people. I just can’t understand why someone took a photo during a non England match.

I doubt there would have been many more there during the England game as it looks shocking . Things might change as the tournament progresses but nothing on that picture would get me to leave the pub.
As you stated , Keel Square looks perfect and already had a large screen set up and surrounded by pubs , the replacement looks like the usual half hearted effort that Sunderland always seems to end up with .

The photo wasn’t even from Sunday night during our match, it was taken earlier in the day during the Denmark match. This is one of the many downsides to social media, it’s easy for false propaganda to spread and it’s rarely checked but people with agendas will just take it as face value.

This obviously isnt aimed at you btw, I mean in general. And the likes of skunks seem to be bad for it where there is any reason to be anti Sunderland.
didn't think it was mate  .

Yep, the town was quiet though that's why I believed it but having a match on a Sunday night is just unlucky. Only seen a few fans knocking around after the match.

If it’s pissing down the uptake is gonna be small, unless it’s a massive match.
May well improve as the tournament progresses/ weather improves.
Gotta be pretty hardy to want to drink in the rain for England v Serbia when all the pubs are showing the match free of charge in the dry and with better beer or at home since it’s just group games

Must admit, the screen looks on the small side for any big England game where you're having to pay to get in and it might be packed, wouldn't want to be far back! Probably fine for the other games though if the weather's canny

The place is a shithole but people on here are massively biased. It’s certainly no worse than Sunderland and has much more going on. This board loves to say everywhere else is a shithole but then defends somewhere which is consistently ranked as one of the worst in the UK. IIRC isn’t it the only city losing population?
Have you not seen the development work already carried out and currently in progress?

Have you even read the scheme masterplan?

I'm not denying that many of the untouched areas of the city centre are awful but compare it to Boro, Bradford and the likes of other northern towns. Sunderland is undergoing massive wholesale change unlike those places.

Sunderland is not even losing any population according to latest figures unlike Luton, Aberdeen and Oxford.

Stop plastering lazy false facts on here. Mag behaviour.

He's just one of those bores that has to be on the wind up for everything. I wouldn't worry.
