FA Cup Final This Weekend 🏆

Without doubt the most least inspiring cup final you could possibly want.

I've no doubt overseas viewers will be excited by the prospect but I would rather be in the garage doing some cleaning up.

To make it more interesting I will put a bet on, and have it on in the background.

I will go 2-1 Chelsea for the hell of it.

I hope Chelsea win & therefore qualify for the Europa League, meaning they could rest up for our game, having been in a tough midweek game v Spurs.
You never know, if we can get something at Everton and then beat Chelsea, who knows what could happen.

Because, scandalously, it's become a second-rate competition. Clubs who can afford to stay in it past the first couple of rounds, due to their bigger squads, just see it as another good opportunity to milk the fans with extra merchandise, expensive tickets, and TV money.

Very sad!

When 'big' sides were putting out reserve teams everyone was saying it was a second rate competition - now when two big sides get to the final people seem to be saying the same thing.

You find that difficult to understand?
OR
that the 2 views are contradictory?
OR
Questioning that the competition has less appeal than in the past.

good point. they can't get champions league, but they can qualify for the europa league on saturday and help relegate spurs on thursday. they are just in terrible form, they haven't won a league game since march 4th, same night we beat leeds away

haway chelsea

How exciting.
Firstly, why is it this weekend, with two rounds of league games to play?

Secondly, has there ever been a less interesting final in the history of the competition? I can’t think of one.

I love the FA Cup, but I think I’d need to make a real effort to sit down and watch Chelsea vs City 🥱
2 top teams filled with exciting players
I could understand not wanting to watch it were anti football Arsenal playing
Overall both the league and FA cups are football non events these days
Big teams not interested until QF at best
If a premier team had to choose between winning the Cup or staying up they would rightly choose the latter every time

Two of the shittiest clubs going. I’ll pass thanks

I’d take the FA Cup

This for me too, anything that can in anyway help safc possibly get into Europe.

CL Final moving to a Saturday meant FA Cup final had to move elsewhere.

I can see it being a bore fest..... possession football , slow and not getting anywhere.

To be fair Pep always plays strong sides in the cups.

To the majority of fans over 30 I would say the cup competitions are still far from being non events.

We need City to win to have any chance of Europe now.

So your hope is misguided
