Wow big pens coming
I like the gafer tape mercs really wrecked then this might be a huge penelty Maclean
They'll get a 3 place grid penalty, they have to get the maximum penalty for that.
Fantastic by hadjar will be P2 when Kimi gets a penalty.

Jesus Mercedes 8 tenths quicker than any other car.

This is absolutely Hamilton’s last season in the sport too. Carried on where he left off last year.

Whatever peoples thoughts on Max, F1 cars should not be doing that, imagine that happening in Monaco or Canada, could be tragic consequences.
Brundle put it down to driver error, driver error could be the only thing stopping Mercedes from dominating, but Russell looked imperious.

P6 in a car that has had issues from Lap 1 of the weekend and a duct taped front wing which gave in on the final flying lap. Great result.

I am preprogrammed to hate Red Bull after years of Christian Horner and then Max, but I can't help but have a soft spot for Isaak Hadjar. Such a likeable young lad, great to see him in P3 (possibly higher depending on penalties).

Ferrari pace just disappeared. Hamilton was in the 1:19s on mediums in Q1 and ended up only a few tenths faster by the end of the session.

How demoralising was it, as an F1 fan, to see the speed topping out and then lowering on the straights though. I know we have seen it in testing and practice, but in Qualifying it just felt even worse. It must be so frustrating for the drivers. I can see F1 losing true racing fans if they dont do something about it

In theory this should be one of their worst tracks. Their smaller turbo will struggle at power dominant/lots of full throttle tracks.

Tracks with more slow speed corners should give them an advantage as the smaller turbo is better on initial acceleration, hence their ridiculous starts

Aye it looked and sounded absolutely shite.
