F1 2026

When the wing is flipped, it's an ever smaller surface area and creates a load more downforce
you mean when it's open? I've just watched a vid where they reckon the little wing behind the exhaust will blow gasses up into the open wing stalling the air or something which give an advantage.
all very confusing but very interesting..
would be nice to see them actually do well for a change.

Current top 4 teams in testing. Still 1hr 20 mins to go but…..

1. Ferrari (Le cleric)
2. McLaren (Norris)
3. Red Bull (Verstappen)
4. Mercedes (Antonelli)

Same as it ever was and there is really not a great deal between all the cars.

The battle I'm most looking forward to Aston vs Cadillac for the wooden spoon, see who's gonna be the furthest off the back of the pack in the first few races!

Seems the idea is that the area where the airflow that goes over the car might strike the rear wing elements is reduced in the upside down configuration compared to simply opening a flap.
It does seem to present less surface area that way, so it makes sense from that pov.

Also, there's a thought that it acts as an upside down wing - so creates lift rather than downforce, which reduces friction on the tyres. I think this might be negligable though.

I’d love to see a very fast Ferrari.

I think I could stomach a fast Ferrari if it gave Hamilton his deserved 8th worth title then he can retire. If it means a LeClerc championship I am less interested. I have nothing against LeClerc, I would just prefer a Mclaren win (obviously), if not, Merc would be my second choice if as expected Williams aren't going for the win.

Yeah I kinda feel the same way.

I don’t want Red Bull to win but worryingly Max is growing on me and I’m not happy. He’s just the hardest, fastest guy out there and I respect that.

I really want Lewis to get that 8th title but I agree he needs to retire, and so does Fernando.

I like Charles but I’m ambivalent about his winning the drivers championship.

I was a big Oscar fan but he seriously lost the plot in the final part of last season, let’s see how he reacts.

Lando for a second title? Why not?

Imagine being the best designer ever, finally given the TP role you've always dreamt of at your own works team, and sending out Pedro De La Rosa to roll out the platitudes to Craig Slater after your car managed 6 laps. I want to hear from Newey!

I think it is fast, but I think LeClerc looks faster in it. But the media are still assuming Mercedes are on top!
