Everything is that bit better than it was at this time, last year - younger lads a bit more mature and experienced, a head coach who doesn't appear incompetent, unlike the last two, shiny new kits that are the best we've had in years. I respect your opinion, I really do.
I just happen to think you're wrong. It's a long, very physical and demanding league season. Don't get me wrong, I think the quality outside the top four is pretty rotten with anyone capable of beating anyone on the day.
We're soft as a squad. Set piece defending has not been addressed (Ballards injury a real blow) and goals from wide play are inconsistent. Without a CF outlet we will invite pressure onto our skilful but naive midfield. First half season points kept us up last year, just.
This is all very concerning to me and completely on Speakman's head.
 
Burstow has gone so that automatically improves the squad. Head coach has to be an improvement on Dodds surely. Browne is hopefully an upgrade on Dack.Patto might feel he has some competition so could push on once again and if we turn down silly offers for Clarke then that’s a bonus.
 
Hard to argue with the OP tbh.

Main positive is Cirkin being fit.

Hoping Browne can be the experienced centre mid we’re after but shouldn’t be at the expense of Dan Neil sitting deep.

The whole striker situation is absolutely pathetic.
 
Need to get off to a win at Cardiff, which I think we will. Wednesday and Burnley will be tough. We have might have 13 - 14 half decent players but beyond that our squad is really poor. The centre forward situation is beyond a joke. As it stands a few injuries to key players and we are fucked, we already have a number of lads out and our injury record is abysmal.

I also respect your opinion and I also think you're wrong. Opinions are a wonderful thing. Across our squad, there are so many things that could make us unravel, but, there are so many things that could go exceptionally well. With a fair wind, our squad has so much potential, albeit largely unfulfilled, at this juncture. Hope I'm right and you're wrong - that way we'll both be happy.

No better off?

(1) Last season TM wasn't doing too badly with the squad we pretty much have now apart from Pritch, who TM only used as a sub. Under a competent Head Coach we're much better than the second half of season form suggests. KS, Beale, Dodds messed it all up.
(2) Browne looks useful. Dack didn't.
(3) We haven't got Burstow - which is a plus in itself.
(4) We're a developing squad, and players have gained in experience.
(5) I for one am hopeful of Le Bris

This is not happy clapping. I'm not happy. Like every one else I'm p*ssed off and frustrated that we haven't got the proven striker we need. There is still time. KS should be out on his 'ears' if he can't get one.
