Well Rafa should have spent what he had better.

Only finished 10th because of werld class Rafa performing miracles.;)
Yet when Pardew finished fifth it was lucky and only because other teams inexplicably played shite!

I shudder to think how they’d go on if Benitez ever got them to those giddy heights.

Take those points on board but Rafa is doing a worse job than Sam was doing and he has had a few seasons to develop and maintain a solid premier league side by now, he hasn't brought any youngsters through to my knowledge also... imo like ;)

Allardyce came into Newcastle in 2007, Newcastle had played in Europe in 10 or 11 of the previous 14 seasons, and the summer Allardyce came in, he spent over £30m iirc, which at the time was a lot. There was still hope and ambition there, and the desire to do well. Allardyce was also Shepherd's man, but Ashley still allowed the £30m spend.
The season doesn't finish after 21 games though and we were getting worse by the week. It was absolutely minging to see.
Clearly everyone on here was watching Newcastle every week so they know what the games were like

Stopped reading at "Played in Europe 10 or 11 seasons out of the last 14years"
You spent a fortune and were punching above your weight.

Bet you didn't stop reading it, you just want to make it look like that to avoid giving context to the situation, because 12 seasons ago is exactly the same as now.

By 'a few seasons' you mean the one in which he finished 10th and the current one which is only 15 games in.
He was brought in to keep Newcastle up though, remember the Home game against Sunderland a game they needed to win and was delighted with a draw.

I know it's hard to believe this is not an anti Newcastle opinion, it is an anti-Benitez opinion felt the same at Liverpool and nearly choked on my breakfast cereal when he got the Real Madrid job, lasted about as long as I expected

Aye righto. Competing in the Third Division. Sunderland. True its what it is. But its also shameful and embarrassing. Why not just drop further down the League. You would win even more games.
Nothing shameful or embarrassing about it, we are where we are because we deserve to be.

You can only beat what's in front of you and as a fan you can either embrace it or go in the huff . And 30,000 of us have decided to embrace it and are enjoying it just like you lot did in the championship.

Like I said I've watched us in the premier league struggling and getting humped most weeks struggling to string 2 passes together and getting turned over at home by the likes of West ham just like you lot are doing, and it's not great in fact it's depressing

I’m not ashamed or embarrassed. But on the other hand I’m not the one acting the twat on someone else’s message board.

"The Defence of Rafa" ...

... starring Russell Crowe as Maximus Magius head of the powerful Magpie cult!

"An epic of staggering proportions!"

"Not to be missed" says the Newcastle Chronicle .... "Never in the history of mankind has a Nation so steadfastly defended their hero."

"The Emperor's New Clothes has nothing on this" says the Sunderland Echo ...

... "The deluded peasants just can't see that their King is really just a fat arrogant mercenary taking their money and adoration."

Said this about him for years.. wish I could find the posts I made when he got the real madrid job

Aye whatever.

2002, finished 4th
2003 finished 3rd, played 14 champions league games
2004 finished 5th, UEFA semi final
2005 13th, fa cup semi final, uefa quarter final
2006 finished 7th
2007 finished 14th uefa last 16.

So in the seasons preceding Allardyce's arrival we'd done ok, was the time the "big four" was dominating the league, but top 6 wasn't unrealistic. Spurs Everton and Villa were around it at the time as well. Bolton had even finished 6th.
For Allardyce to be given £35m to spend and have us doing so badly it's no wonder he was pedalled.
All about context.

So you finished 13th, 7th, and 14th, then Allerdyce had you 11th when he was peddled, sounds about right to me.

To be fair to you I can’t remember your posts about when he got the Real Madrid job, but you have been 100% consistent in your opinion of since he got the Newcastle job.
Edit just saw your post above
