Engraved Miners Lamps

Spot on marra.

The on field stuff is brilliant and makes us all feel great.

But the way they have made us all feel part of one great big family makes me so proud to be part of it.

I genuinely have never felt so wanted and appreciated by the club.
I would agree with you if it wasn't for some of the stories relating to how fans who have been going for years have been treated, regarding tickets.

It also helps build the brand a bit doesn't it. If you're trying to be unique and different from other clubs - playing on that working class nature of the town is really important. fans/ players/ staff know exactly what the club is about and the values we have.
The whole comms and branding side of things last 12 months or so have been excellent.

I had plenty of mates who were miner (or Mechanics as they liked to tell me) but the only pit I got to go down was Snowden in Kent.
It was the deepest (over 3,000 feet) and hottest in Kent . I was like visiting Hell.

Although it closed in the 1980's and the winding gear has long gone I pass it from time to time and the coal yard and other buildings are still there are as I remember them form over 50 years ago.

In the North East when a pit was closed down it was completely "disappeared" within a few months. I think that Thatcher was afraid that the "natives" might try to re-open them.

Me grandads one from Ryhope pit engraved with his name is still at me mams. He died in 1965. I did think of bringing it to mine as it is left to me, but now I’m well into me 60s it’s going to my Nephew once me mam is no longer here as he shares the same name as me grandad. It seems only right to me. He will be told the significance of what it means and to look after it

Are you asking 6 times there ?

There seemed to be a suggestion things were different with a owner with a 100th of the wealth of kld and a club two leagues down . I'm presenting possible reasons
Not that lamps are that expensive plus we won very little to celebrate .
Because the two c**ts in charge didn't have a penny to scratch their combined arses with and were trying to make a quick few quid.

They were taking the fuckin piss and did not give a flying fuck..
Is your memory that bad??????

(Only asking once in case you are confused marra.)
