Root will play 3. One of the best of all time in that role, Buttler doesn’t open in the 50 over stuff.
No Stokes is still a huge issue like. As we need someone in top 6 who can bowl. Livingstone could do it but he really hasn’t impressed much.
There’s a huge different between IPL and a 50 over World Cup in India. The scores will be lower they always are and tense
Roy will open I reckon.
I feel Malan will probs miss out for Brook, it’s canny harsh like. But I’d not be against Malan opening.

Oooh not sure on odi or t20 mate. Let's say both ha, as I can't think of anyone who gets in, maybe another power hitter like salt instead of Malan or Root?
Ahh so true about Buttler keeping wicket. Forgot about that. I was more thinking about Buttler opening or coming down order. I reckon he's our best white ball batter so open for me as we have huge hitters down the order too.
Some good shouts there like. Especially about missing Stokes. But let's see your 11, so we can compare.

Not great against spin, whereas its Ducketts strength and we're playing in India.
Brook done pretty well when hes played too.
Aye, could do with another spinner or batter over Willey, who I just think wont be effective in India.

Neither of them open in white ball. Hain is more like Root the number 3 that bats the innings as the 75-90 run strike rate.
Roy averages 46 this year and 33 last year. Malan can open instead but then Malan can bat 3-5 too.
Brook misses out cos of Stokes simple as that.

Duckett scored 23 in his 3 ODI innings this year having not played an ODI since 2016 prior to that.
Roy/Bairstow are the best opening pair ever in ODI cricket as far as average goes. I can't see them wanting to change that for anybody else.
