Surprised no mention of Hales they brought him back for T20 World Cup and thought he did well
Just retired from international cricketYeah think Hales will be involved.
Yeah seen that. Bit of a shock considering he’d spent years moaning about not being selected and then when he finally is picked he retires 6 months later.Just retired from international cricket
Maybe he's been told he won't be picked?Yeah seen that. Bit of a shock considering he’d spent years moaning about not being selected and then when he finally is picked he retires 6 months later.
Think Wood wont play a game until the World Cup

Fifty over team ?
and I agree, however Buttler will be the keeper
bairstow has been a decent out fielder in white ball stuff
He was already retired from the 50 over stuff
He’d have turned it down
Root will play 3. One of the best of all time in that role, Buttler doesn’t open in the 50 over stuff.
No Stokes is still a huge issue like. As we need someone in top 6 who can bowl. Livingstone could do it but he really hasn’t impressed much.
There’s a huge different between IPL and a 50 over World Cup in India. The scores will be lower they always are and tense
Roy will open I reckon.
I feel Malan will probs miss out for Brook, it’s canny harsh like. But I’d not be against Malan opening.
No Brook in the ODI squad?
Aye I think it’s a mistake. If he wasn’t in the XI you’d still have him in the squad surelySeems a bizarre call
No need for stokes to play these games really, just let him rest to the World Cup
Not great against spin, whereas its Ducketts strength and we're playing in India.I dont think Roy looks the same player these days so wouldn't have necessarily have chosen him. Sam hain or Brook would have been a better choice
Aye, could do with another spinner or batter over Willey, who I just think wont be effective in India. Not so sure we need Topley, Curran and Willey in the squad.
Neither of them open in white ball. Hain is more like Root the number 3 that bats the innings as the 75-90 run strike rate.I dont think Roy looks the same player these days so wouldn't have necessarily have chosen him. Sam hain or Brook would have been a better choice
Duckett scored 23 in his 3 ODI innings this year having not played an ODI since 2016 prior to that. Not great against spin, whereas its Ducketts strength and we're playing in India.
Brook done pretty well when hes played too.

Salt, didnt even get a mention until this post or in any articles on the squadsDuckett scored 23 in his 3 ODI innings this year having not played an ODI since 2016 prior to that.
Roy/Bairstow are the best opening pair ever in ODI cricket as far as average goes. I can't see them wanting to change that for anybody else.
Salt has partnered Roy more than anyone else since the beginning of 2022
