problem with Broad is he is a big game player, he performs at his best when the pressure is really on. This is just mickey mouse cricket

You mean like in Australia (2 wickets at 80.50), or in South Africa ([email protected]), or a home Ashes series ([email protected]), or a home series with SA ([email protected]).

And definitely not against the weaker sides such as home to Pakistan ([email protected]) or against the West Indies ([email protected] and [email protected]).

Yep, he's the star man in the big games alright.

This is true. He'll probably just change the goalposts again like he does every time Anderson puts in a good performance under blue skies.

I'm expecting "Ashes test at the Oval" to be brought up. You know the only time in his career where Broad has put in a match winning performance.

But your forgetting the 'lords test ' v Pakistan last year, granted he helped win it with the BAT and certain players played a bit dodgy .

your scraping the barrell if you cite Aussie away when he had a side strain

Jimmy went for 45

what happened to Jimmy in South Africa last test, what happened to Jimmy last test in the home Ashes, I tell ya what he lost his bottle and got panned all round the park

Many of the the greatest bowlers in the history world cricket have had series far, far worse than 45 in a 4 test series. Jimmy is a class act averages 30 (which is the new 26 ;)) is tremendous when conditions suit but has also bowled superbly in places as diverse as India and Australia against world class batsmen in 35 degrees under cloudless blue skies.

Broad has played 40 tests has generally been poor with the ball averages 36 but still has the attributes, attitude and potential to one day get a test match bowling record of somewhere near 30 himself.

Surely not. He only ever comes out of his shell when it's overcast or there's rain around. ;) :)

Ah, straight back to the default position, Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy.

Your point was that Broad is a big game player, which as the stats show is utter horseshite.

one minute its pissing down here the next sunny:mad: looks like rain most of the day though

two biggest tests since Oval in 2005 were the Aussies last test at home when after 4 tests it was 1-1 and in South Africa when we were leading 1-0 after three tests and only needed to avoid defeat to win the series

AND IN BOTH GAMES JIMMY WAS ABSOLUTELY SHITE, whereas Broady lead the attack with great applomb

Why dont you whack up the stats for these two games
