England vs India (fourth test) The Oval

The problem with that is he was sold down the river.

Opening with him against that Aussie attack was ridiculous and now because of them 3 test matches against the best bowling attack in the world.

It’s assumed he is not a test cricketer

He isn't like. You might be right but he wont score runs consistently at test level

infact I think is T20 place is under threat too.

It should be, but then Hales should be opening, and Morgan's place should be under threat.
Well, he’s had enough chances to prove he can bat higher. One fifty between Buttler and himself across the series isn’t remotely good enough. That’s the same as Shami, and they’ve played many more innings

invest in Pope or take a punt on Livingstone.
Pope can keep

Totally agree. His play style is not suited to opening in the slightest. Good management is working out what you’ve got and getting the most out of them. Roy coming in at 7 against a tiring attack and an old ball is a totally different prospect.

They wanted him to be our Warner instead he was Finch

Yeah possibly but there is no doubt he was not given a fair crack of the whip batting in a position he doesn’t for his county against the best bowling side in the world

He was lucky to get picked at all though really.
Yeah I do like Pope, definitely has more natural talent than most of the others but that has to translate into scores at some point.

he has ability but I think he gets out to good bowling pretty consistently

He hasn't always been coming in at 50/4 too, was a period last year when he just couldnt kick on
