England v South Africa

Was any criticism aimed at Cook for not bowling Jimmy's full allocation? Seems bizarre that Bopara and Root bowled ahead of him when it became clear early on that they wouldn't bat 50 overs.

yes, Warne in particular mentioned bowling Anderson through. I mentioned it before, I dont get think England are quite ruthless enough when we smell blood like.

Still, a very comfortable and professional win but we lack a bit of excitement which makes us a little dull to watch on occasions.

absolutely. But Id like to see us be really ruthless and skittle teams out when theyre on the ropes. Anderson had them all over the shot and to bring Root on was very negative when Anderson still had overs left. Nitpicking a bit but Id like to see us look more dominant

Seems we always stick to a rigid formula, that's why we'll eventually come a cropper when the top 3 saunter along at 4.5 an over for 40 overs. There should have been no need for Root and Bopara to bowl today. Probably not even Broad later on, could have had Tredwell at one end and rotated Jimmy and Finn at the other trying to bowl them out for sub 100. But on the other hand we thrashed a decent side (I know they had 4 world class players missing, but they're still a good unit)

No KP and no Swann to counteract the players South Africa were missing. Great result what a shame that we have very little chance in the final, would fancy our chances more against Sri Lanka rather than India.
Nice Sunday afternoon in Walkabout watching the final and enjoying seeing England with a chance (however slim) to lift a 1 day trophy
