Summer full of white ball then 5 Tests in 6 weeks in August and September.
They really have ballsed this summer up.
He has but It’ll take something very special for him to become a big player at test level. His batting may well be give him a chance as another string to bow but at present he looks very ordinary. He has time on his side, just turned 20. If he's prepared to learn and allowed to learn on the job he has a chance. England been crying out for a good leftie for years
Doesn’t play red ball, poor championship average etc etc etc. Disregard all else if those two don’t stack up according to some of the ‘experts’ on here.Buttler Man of the Match.
Always said he was a match winner and without Stokes we barely had any down under. Ridiculous that he wasn't back in the side last summer when they gave half a dozen plodders caps.

Incase you hadn’t noticed we aren’t inundated with quality to choose from. If we have a top order of Strauss, cook, trott, KP, bell, Colly and prior at 7 then there’s no discussion to be had for buttler. But we haven’t.9 times out of 10 we're talking about another failure and an awful slog straight to mid wicket that a would have embarrassed a club player. But luckily the fielder managed to drop it and he made 80*, fair play to him taking his life and making good runs.
Let's see if he can score regular runs, but unfortunately we'll have to wait a couple of months. I do so hope you aren't all jumping in early after one decent week........

What we do know is butler is capable of scoring runs against international class opposition and is a freakish talent. I don’t need to look at ‘stats’ and play the whole ‘he doesn’t play red ball cricket’ card to know that.
Your reaction to his selection was pretty ridiculous really.
Man of the match is Jos Buttler
By the way , three day test, poor wicket , remove this ground from the roster, FTECB graves .
More debt for Yorkshire with it finishing early.

My reaction was based on watching him play some terrible innings for Lancs (Yep, I'm one of the few who has seen him play a red ball game in the last couple of years) added to his previous failures.
And I still think picking a specialist batsman at 7 is ridiculous.
So now he has two decent innings behind him (let's ignore the ugly shot he played early when he really should have been out) and it's fully justified in the eyes of some. So if he has a couple of failures next time I'll be entitled to call it? That's right is it?
I was jesting lad. Notice theWas an absolutely brilliant cricket wicket, not poor in the slightest
Aye two innings that were the best in the team, man of the match
But let’s focus on one bad shot aha his form 2 years ago
I don’t think anyone is suggesting he’s the second coming of Bradman, he could well fail and end up discarded again but he’s just helped us win a test and played a big part in both games so the selectors were right to recall him and you were wrong. My reaction was based on watching him play some terrible innings for Lancs (Yep, I'm one of the few who has seen him play a red ball game in the last couple of years) added to his previous failures.

Talking about how he was dropped ffs! Let’s just disregard Lara’s 501 against Durham as he was dropped on fuck all as well! What a ridiculous straw to clutch at!
I don’t think they are, just suggesting it was a good pick and applauding fact they haven’t just looked at stats to make a selection.I think some people are mind, just look at this board.
And it was more that fact that he played a typical mistimed slog that should have cost him, a typical shot that has cost him over and over and over again in red ball cricket. But he got away with it this time, so it's all good.
So two innings then, is that the rule?
